The Rabbit Holes Issue
For the Fall 2022 issue of Brown Political Review, the editors chose the special feature theme “Rabbit Holes.” My team and I responded by designing a comprehensive design featuring new layouts, custom typography, and illustrations —all centered around the theme.

Process
To visually represent the theme of the magazine, the team and I decided to reimagine the table of contents as a three-dimensional spread.

We thought that the depth effect would give the reader the sense that they were descending into a rabbit hole.

To achieve the most realistic appearance, we decided to physically create the table of contents using layers of cardstock.
After stacking the layers of cardstock, we photographed the spread to obtain the final image.
The photographed table of contents before digital touch-ups.
